Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best age to start taking lessons?

We offer lessons for ALL ages! Prelude toddler classes are offered from ages 2-4 and then 15 minute private lessons can be arranged for students 5-6. Normal 30-minute lessons start about age 7 and students have a chance to participate in our community choir and orchestra! We also offer lessons and ensembles for adults so it is never too late to learn music.

How do I pay for lessons?

Our primary form of payment is a debit or credit card auto-pay. Upon enrolling at your first lesson you will be given this form. Tuition is taken out monthly before lessons take place and is communicated with your teacher on or before the 25th of the month before. Students can also pay using cash, check, or online with a security deposit of 4 lessons.

How many lessons a month do I take?

Students are expected to attend lessons on a weekly basis to develop a solid foundation for their musical education. Vacations and weeks off can be communicated in advance directly with the teacher you are enrolled with. There is a minimum requirement of 2 lessons a month if a student is to be enrolled in the Academy.

What are your policies on Missing lessons?

If a conflict occurs and a student is unable to attend a lesson, we require at least 24 hours notice of the schedule change to receive a make up lesson. The make up lesson must then occur within the same month that the orginal lesson took place.
